I donated my painting, A femme qui n'a pas besoin de chien (The woman who needs no dog) to the May 7, 2011 benefit/auction for the Oregon Feral Cat Coalition. All the attendees of the gala benefit will have the opportunity to bid on (and win) the painting. The "Furball" is a popular event hosted by Meterologist Matt Zaffino. Amazing
Hi Celeste,
congratulation, well deserved I may add, this is a very elegant oil, it really stands out.
I love these umbrella paintings Celeste - great shapes!
she sure has great legs! and I sure love your paintings with people/umbrellas because of the mood it creates.
I gotta give it to you Celeste, this is the most creative way I've ever seen to enter a painting into an animal fundraiser! There's no dog, because she doesn't need one! lol Love the painting. Someone will be very pleased.
The title is fabulous and the piece is worthy of such a line...not a fan of feral creatures but would want to own the painting regardless!! Kudos for choosing a cause and supporting it.
beautiful painting and beautiful title...
ciao Graziano
Very visually appealing and love the title - especially for the fundraiser it's going to! I imagine it will be bid on fiercely!
Apt title for a painting that puts me in mind of the French impressionists, not just with the brush-work and celebration of light, but the figures 'promenading' in a public space.
But most of all, i love the drama of those dark figures with their dark bat umbrellas. (No, i'm not a goth). Fantastic!
That's a wonderful painting. We have a controversy over feeding of feral cats here since some environmentalists say they are wiping out endangered local birds. It's always a question of balance.
Very generous of you--a beautiful painting. In my town the feral cats near the post office are fed, caught, then spayed or neutered--they don't get a gala. Great idea.
A beautiful painting for a great event which supports my favorite animal. I hope the painting gets a big price and goes to a good home.
cats that is- not necessarily a feral one :)
Very classy painting! Hope it brings in a lot.
I have a friend here who wants to know what kind of a woman doesn't need a dog.
Ah, to be so elegant! And that is the perfect work to describe this beautiful piece, Celeste. (This was the image of myself I used to have when I was in high school. Always thought I'd grow up to have this level of elegance and sophistication. Alas, it was not to be. LOL)
I'd definitely bid this one up! It's wonderful ... good cause, incredible painting. Well done.
